Are you manually configuring WEP using iwtools or using the gnome networking inteface configuration<br>

which should put it in /etc/network/interfaces/<br>
<br>
iface eth1 inet dhcp<br>
wireless-essid <essid-here><br>
wireless-key <key here, all uppercase, hex><br><br>
