My Nautilus window has timed out again and the "force quit" tool is back. Oh, I just found out if I browse my samba shares via the computer/network browser I can connect to the share, (rather than use the "connect to server" option and keyring has come back and asked me to authenticate. Ah, now after doing a browse that has forced the keyring to ask for my password again (twice actually) and now the nautilus can show the samba shares using the "connect to server" function. Now the keyring is in sync (or whatever) and it seems to be working, I'll try the AMD64 version when I get chance. Nautilus is a "white" window and none of the gnome menus will action although icon's I have on the panel bar will run (not those associated with Nautilus, like home). Nautilus will run under my root id i.e. "gksudo nautilus". I suspect the keyring is screwed up and until that time's out I can't get my "normal" user nautilus back. Any ideas on how to disable/remove/reinstall keyring manager? ah, more info in the type it took to type the above, my panel menus have returned, although my nautilus window is still "empty"/"white". I can minimize/maximize it, move it but it won't draw anything inside. I'll try and click the close button on the nautilus window. The Close button lights up when clicked, window is still there. Now I have the "The window "ruscook - File Browser" is not responding." prompt in the force quit tool. I click close and it kills the nautilus window. I can now reopen either the "home" or "computer" icons and they work.
