<DIV>I installed the warty warthog version of Unbuntu. I had it partition off a part of the HD leaving SUSE 8.2 personal ed and some old Win98 files of archival interest.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The install was apparently OK, but now I have two problems</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>1. When I do the boot up, the program tries to load the hotplug devices, but fails and I get a fatal error message. The SUSE also doesn't load the hotplug devices when I boot from SuSE.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The problem is that I need to be able to sync a palm pilot and use an Ipod, so I need to be able to do hotplug devices.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>How do I fix this so that Ubuntu can play nice with my wife's PDA and my son's Ipod?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>2. When I boot from SuSE, the multi user log in screen comes up and KDE comes up when I log in. When I boot from KDE, I get a Linux text command line prompt and I never get to the Gnome desktop. This didn't work this way when I was trying the live CD demo, but now that it is resident on my HD, I can't get Gnome to pop up.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>How do I fix that?</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV><p>
