<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I just installed ubuntu on my Dell D800
laptop.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Didn't have an internet connection so it didn't
update all the packages after it was installed, but everything else went pretty
much smooth.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>However, I was never able to boot up.
Everytime it boots up I get a black screen right after it says "starting gnome
display manager"</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>At that point I can't do anything/see anything, and
have to press the power button on the laptop, in which the screen comes back and
says that it's unloading the modules and rebooting and stuff.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>What can I do guys? I'm not a linux expert and
don't know how to proceed.</FONT></DIV>
