<font size="-1"><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">I recently
installed Ubuntu on a system that uses a Linksys USB network adapter on
a static IP LAN network. The USB network adapter was not detected
during the install, however as soon as I set an appropriate static IP
address, it just worked.<br>
<br>
All other distros I've run on that machine, including Red Hat, SuSE,
and Mandrake required that I also edit a configuration file to get it
working.<br>
<br>
So hopefully you'll have the same good experience with Ubuntu Linux
once you configure the IP address.<br>
