In fact I have just checked my notes, and I do the wake by running
etherwake in a router that runs openwrt. It uses a cron task every 5
mins to send the wake.
I am glad that you have reminded me of this as I was thinking of
retiring the router, an ancient BT Home Hub 5 A, so I may have to
rethink that.
