TestDisk-QPhotoRec

Morning all

Has anyone managed to get  TestDisk/QPhotoRec to work on Jammy or Noble (or any 
version of Ubuntu)?

I managed to lose a few movie files (user error ;-<) imidiatly trying to 
recover I checked these :-

Rubish-Bin (both from nautilus & desktop icon)

~/.local/share/Trash (nautilus & terminal)

No sign of missing files, in fact no sign of "Downloads" folder which seems odd 
as I must have deleted many fike from there

Downloads (on Noble) is a simlink to Downloads on Jammy so I also checked

~/.local/share/Trash (nautilus & terminal) on Jammy

cant find TestDisk in repos so download the linux x86_64 bz2 file, extracted 
and tried to run using the instructions form offical TestDisk site

any pointers please
