I don't own a cell phone, but the main reason for this is that I simply
don't need or want to be available everywhere and at all times. The
basic idea that you can be in contact with each other anytime and
anywhere, like in Star Trek, is actually a good one. But I don't like
this senselessly exaggerated permanent exchange of all kinds of shit.
When you're in the forest, you want your peace and quiet. When you're
with friends, you should look each other in the eye and not at displays.
Tracking is not such a big problem. You don't have to leave it on 24/7.
Tracking can even be useful for old, sick people, especially in
combination with the sensors in modern smartphones.

Speech recognition can be a nonsense, but it can also be very useful. An
Apple device is not so bad for accessibility/speech dictation, but you
shouldn't confuse it with an Alexa.

I haven't yet dealt with voice recognition in depth. With other
software, you sometimes have to be patient to find software that works
on your device and doesn't use networked servers from dubious companies.
Especially if you don't expect everything to be free, there are also
reputable providers, but even free can be reasonable.

You shouldn't equate reliable proprietary software with something like
this:
