That sounds feasable, I "thought" 23.10 was getting ESM updates but that was a 
while ago, I also thought that when I ran updates I got the "you can get better 
security if you use ESM" type message, I did wonder if there was a diff between 
ESM & Ubuntu Pro? 

status ua -all 
and
status pro -all 

give (AFAICT) the same results, they seem to show all features as 

"ENTITLED" "STATUS"

Disable the esm lines in sources ???
