Well, if you have to buy the computer first before finding out if Ubuntu
will run on it, once you have physical possession of the device, could you:
1. Attempt to boot Ubuntu from a live USB.
2. Use Ubuntu to see how well it works.
3. If step 2 works, then it is time to decide on installing Ubuntu onto the
computer.
4. If step 2 doesn't work, would you be able to return the computer as
unsuitable for your purposes? I don't know what local consumer protection
mechanisms are in place where you are.
Note: You'll need other people's advice about retaining Windows on your
computer and/or shrinking Windows' partitions.
