Hello, Ralph.

From further investigation, I now believe that the other person now
has, unwittingly, a hybrid of Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3 and Linux Mint
Cinnamon 21.4 Edge; the equivalent of having a hybrid of Debian stable
and Debian testing, with the source repositories being for the stable,
rather than the testing version - a Frankenstein system.

I tried to post a message explaining this, on the Claws Mail list, but,
that list administrator does not allow such posts.

Because I believe that this (the Ubuntu users) mailing list does not
allow attachments, and the message includes four attachments to justify
my reasoning, I cannot post that message here.
