Hi Mike,
Not sure exactly what you're trying to do but it sounds to me like you're
looking at the problem from the wrong side. You've bought a router with a
USB WAN so you need to configure the router. Your Ubuntu device should
"just work" like any other LAN device once you have the router properly
configured.
