Waterfox Passwords / Logins disappeared

After my last (or maybe the one before) update Waterfox lost all Passwords / 
Logins, I restored the related files from backup (logins.json, cert8.db & 
key3.db) after that some logins worked but trying to view any via Passwords or 
settings | privacy & security | view saved logins, shows nothing but a blank 
pane

I did a search and found a mention (for Firefox) dating back to 2020, with 
various answers from "restore from backup" (as I tried) to "just wait it will 
come back" are there any wiser heads who know the best / better way?

I know some logins may work now (at least in part) but if I can't view the list 
the only other way would be "try" to access every site for which I had a saved 
logon, or wait until I need to access one, not workable ideas really
