5.15.0-113-generic and 6.5.0-41-generic kernels with NVIDIA card lost video

Yeah, there's more poking and prodding to do.

I noticed this when looking through blacklisted modules:

    $ cat /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
    ...
    # these drivers are very simple, the HID drivers are usually preferred
    blacklist usbmouse
    blacklist usbkbd

I wonder if that has something to do with why I can't ALT+F2 to get an
alternate terminal for command line login.

I also want to try to reinstall kernel-image-modules and
kernel-image-modules-extras to see if that helps (or whatever they are
called nowadays).
