No prompt to reboot, but I know from past experience that if you make a BIG
upgrade including kernels it is better to reboot. So that is why I did that.

Right now following an apt update:

All packages are up to date.

So what is in line now is to get up from 20.04.6 to 22.04.x (whatever it is now)

And if that works out repeat to go to 24.04.x

I have been reluctant to do this since in October 2023 I did a release upgrade
on ann Ubuntu 20.04 VPN server at the office and it broke the networking system,
so I had to struggle getting that working again.

That server like the one I have at home started out as 16.04.x and was upgrdaded
to 18 and then to 20 when I had the networking problem.

One difference: The office Ubuntu runs as a virtual computer in VMWARE ESX and
the one I have here is on a Lenovo minitower type PC.

Do I need to shut down the server and use GParted to copy the partition?
