Headphone with microphone

During the later lockdowns, I bought a Vidonn bone-conduction Bluetooth 
headset with built-in microphone, thinking to use it for online meetings.

It worked perfectly with my cellphones (then OnePlus 6t, now Pixel 8a).

Under Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, etc the headphones work but the 
microphone is not recognised (that is, in Menu > Preferences > Sound the 
microphone does not appear as an Input).

Is this a known deficiency? I think I read somewhere at the time that 
combo devices had no support in Bluez/Blueman/Bluetooth etc.

Does anyone know if there any recent or upcoming versions of Ubuntu 
which will provide support for headsets WITH microphones?
