Failure installing Ubuntu 24.04 on an USB stick

Both - "Delete disk and install Ubuntu" and "Something different" - work for
me in the 22.04 installer. In 24.04 it isn't called "Something different"
but "manual installation". Both didn't work in the 24.04 installer, when
installing on that USB stick, which I have given back now.
