do-release-upgrade not working

Hi all

I have a proxy situation - I set the proxy and "apt " works just fine....
export http_proxy=http://1.1.1.1:3128

however - do-release-update does not.  Is there a "different" proxy value I
need to set for do-release-upgrade?
