I used the single package command as specified on that web page (from 
reading what I read of the web page, it appeared a bit too risky, to 
update from everything in the backports repository), installed yt-dlp, 
which now shows, using the policy command, as being this month's (the 
latest stable) version, tested it on a small (shorts) youtube video, 
and, it worked.
