and these packages get tested against their respective ubuntu release
and confioguration ... Mint does their own thing to set up their
desktop and while they (ab)use the ubuntu archive for grabbing packages
from there they combine them in their own way, configure them in their
own way and (at least in tghe past) tend to even replace bits and
pieces of/in them (as i said, that might have changed but the few times
i looked over the years they did this)
on launchpad mint bugs are generally refused because of the
unpredictable behavior, we used to have a policy here on this very
mailing list to also refuse answers to mint problems because of this
but sadly this is being ignored in recent times ...
ask mint to become an official flavour, then their setup becomes
predictable enough to help out with issues caused by this ...
alternatively try the same set of packages on a supported ubuntu system
(i.e. ubuntu-cinnamon) and see if they behave the same way ... if so,
please file a bug using "ubuntu-bug pulseaudio" and people will start
looking into the issue.
telling us that the package was changed (and tested !!! (against
ubuntu)) by an ubuntu developer does not help if it is being used in an
unsupported context which only the mint developers know about, so
pretty pretty please ask the Mint people about their hacks (i'm sure
you have been pointed to this several times over the years you are on
this mailing list and it has not changed til today)
ciao
