Well, in the end it didn't work. After some time Windows ended up in an endless update loop where it repeatedly tried to install an update which failed every time. As the machine was primarily intended to be used for Windows, I reinstalled Windows with UEFI / GPT and no dual-boot. Now all updates succeeded. Finally I installed WSL to have access to Linux applications on the machine.
