Logon loop after upgrade

May be of help: when this happened to me after the last upgrade (I use fedora) the session type selection
on the greeter was reset so I was returned to the login after entering the password. Selecting the session
type is a drop down at a low corner so it was easy to miss. Once I selected "xfce session" I was back.
