After update I have battery drain and supply problem

Kubuntu 22.04.2 update last weekend and on Tuesday the battery was
dead. Charged it full - dead in 2 days.
Its in the field so I can only remote to it when someone is available.

They sent a screen shot showing this:
"Battery at 49%, plugged in but still discharging. The power supply is
not powerful enough to charge the battery."

That notice showed up immediately after reboot with the update but I
thought it said something else so I blew
it off.
