Is anyone dual-booting both an older & newer Ubuntu version on a machine with nVidia graphics?

Not sure it will help you (it's an older nVidia driver) but

I boot Win7, 22.04.3 Jammy Unity & 23.10 Mantic Unity (soon to be 23.10.1 time 
permiting) each has it's own disk

Dell E5300 2.6Ghz Duel Core
nVidia Geforce 8300GS (there is an Intel i915 also but it's not used)
