Why is youtube-dl blocked

Hmmm...

It's obvious Youtube is "testing" one's browser to see whether or not it
responds in a way that would indicate ads are being blocked. Why, then,
would it be technically unfeasible to pretend to Youtube that one is not
blocking ads when in fact one is?

I just don't think Youtube has rumbled the ad blockers just because it
"insists" with a popup window that ad blockers be removed; the universe
doesn't seem to work that way.
