Why am I seeing this message about 'esm-apps' on just one system?

Hi,
I'm manually updating by command line, too and I got this, too, when
running my Ventoy USB-stick's persistent Xubunutu.
xubuntu at xubuntu:~$ lsb_release -a
LSB Version: core-11.1.0ubuntu2-noarch:printing-11.1.0ubuntu2-
noarch:security-11.1.0ubuntu2-noarch
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS
Release: 20.04
Codename: focal
On Tuesday I used my Ubuntu One account to get the required thingy and
after that I run
xubuntu at xubuntu:~$ sudo pro attach [snip]
Note, I didn't read any user information, it's still on my todo list,
since after running "pro attach", it happened that while I was using
apt, an automated process locked it and tried to do something. The
Ventoy stick is a live media used to provide the OS to do backups, it's
unwanted that processes are started automatically. An automatically
started process does slow down performance. The backups I'm doing with
this live media take around 30 hours, if nothing unwanted is started
automatically.
Before you attach "pro", too, consider to read user information, to
avoid unwanted side effects.
Due to snaps, phased updates and Ubuntu Pro, I search for another OOTB
working LTS distro as an Ubuntu replacement.
I want a user-friendly LTS that doesn't generate more work, than my
user-centric rolling release Arch Linux does. Unfortunately Ubuntu
flavours nowadays generates one obscure inconvenience after the other.
Regards,
Ralf
