I disagree. I migrated for almost all real-time audio, video, photo,
graphic and publishing production from Linux to Apple. I spend some
money for Apple, but most of the money was spend for apps from third
party companies such as e.g. Affinity for photo, graphic and publishing.

Btw. astronomy is less important to me. While Stellarium is for free as
in beer on my Linux PC, it's not on my iPadOS device. OTOH if you use
both, Stellarium and SkySafari, you will see that there's still a big
difference between very good FLOSS software and still better software
that isn't free.

Without doubts there are some domains we better use {Free,}BSD or Linux
for, but overestimating FLOSS instead of conducting a reasonable
discourse prevents progress.
