Whilst I am alot less knowledgeable about this, than others subscribed 
to this mailing list, to me, those messages appear to indicate 
incompatibility between the GPU that you have, and the firmware and/or 
kernel that you have.

Sometimes, from what I understand, "upgrades" can be problematic.
