So I managed now to import one of my PST file archives into TB after first
setting it up with one of my email accounts as a POP3 profile...

Then I imported the mbox formatted directory created by readpst using the AddOn
ImportExportTools NG.

It worked but instead of using the folder names that readpst created from the
pst file it put the emails into about 20 folders named mbox*** where *** is a
number, different for all folders.
So I had to manually walk over all of them and rename them accordingly.

Now I am struggling against the ThunderBird brain-dead date display in the mail
list...
It displays in MM/DD/YYYY format, which is very counter-intuitive.

I have googled and read about 25 different webpages to try and fix this to be
YYYY-MM-DD instead, but to no avail.

The LOcale has been set to Stockholm Sweden in LinuxMint and my My LinuxMint
displays the current time correctly on its clock so this must be TB specific...

Sigh...

But in any case the way to extract the data from the PST files and put them into
the ThunderBird folder system seems to work.

End of issue.
