Before thinking of converting accounts with folder structures and
whatsoever, I would limit it to plain mbox files. Actually the very
first thing I would do is taking a look at the mbox import options
provided by Thunderbird and after that I would do a few tests by saving
emails created with Thunderbird as mbox and then importing those mbox
files with Thunderbird again.
