Hi,

maybe you are running a KDE session, but the desktop is captured by
something. IOW it does look like Cinnamon, but it's still KDE.

Run
  wmctrl -mv
to see what window manager is running.

PS:
File Managers nowadays don't take over the desktop anymore
automagically, but weird things still can happen, for example

  xdg-mime query default inode/directory

  grep -R FileManager1 /usr/share/dbus-1/services

Running a Cinnamon component might be spawning something else.

To see if you are running a X or Wayland session run

  loginctl show-session $(loginctl show-user $(whoami) -p Display --value) -p Type --value
