Thanks Jeff,

I noticed the rtl8761bu driver was being loaded instead of rtl8761b so 
this looks like the answer. The bu version is already installed and so 
I'll rename it otherwise the link won't be created. I have to go out in 
a couple of minutes but I'll see what I can do when I return.

I'll let you know how it goes.
