Using a USB Bluetooth adaptor

Thank you, I had a quick browse and I'll have a closer look if I can't 
get any further with getting the adaptor working under Linux.

I tried the adaptor with my Raspberry Pi 3B and the result is the same 
as with my laptop. I now get the impression the the adaptor I have is 
not a Bluetooth low energy device. The adaptor works in both instances 
but won't detect low energy devices. The package that it came in 
indicates that it's a low energy device.
