are you aware that this last paragraph actually makes you a developer
and not a user ?
a user will not install anything from pip, cpan, gem or npm (and risk
the stability of their system due to interferring binaries from
unsupported third party packages), they will fire up the GUI tool and
not even be aware that there are any different packaging formats
underneath ... most actual *users* will not even open the terminal...
