Ubuntu Unity 22.10 missing Launcher & Menus

Hi 

Subject says most of it really

was fine last night, shutdown, this morning 

Ubuntu Unity 22.10, I only have the wallpaper, no launcher, menu

Right click on wallpaper does nothing, Ctrl+Alt+F1 brings up a terminal

Tried recovery on 5.9.0-21-generic & 5.19.0-29-generic both the same

I did an Update & Dist-Upgrade cycle (to 5.19.0-31-generic) no change

checked that Ubuntu-Unity-Desktop is installed (ver 0.11)

I know I have seen this before a long time ago but don't remember the fix

Any help please
