Yes, I have found a great many very similar suggestions. Not sure what
I am doing wrong, but they are not working for me. Either they no
longer apply or I'm doing something wrong. All the pieces seem to be
present and correct, but I still get asked for passphrases every time.

At this point I need probably help from someone who has actually
personally had it working on a non-GUI system.

But I will keep trying things and if I figure it out will report back.
And blog it :-)
