Your server isn't a fake server ;).

If you pay for a stamp from a legal postal company and specify a valid
recipient, you can also write Donald Duck as the sender on the envelope.

Most of us who do not maintain our own mail server have the ISP as our
gatekeeper anyway.

However, thanks to SPF, DKIM, and DMARC authentication, I can't write to
Gmail addresses with normal, proper Alice emails in some cases.
