Hi,
IIRC manual editing the From header by the email editor window was
possible with Claws, way before Evolution supported it, but IIRC it's
impossible to add an alias by the settings of an existing account. Maybe
you need to add an account for each alias, if you don't want to edit the
address manually. Claws doesn't work on my old and my new PC anymore, so
I stopped using it a while ago.
Unless I'm missing something Sylpheed does neither supports manual
editing, nor does it provide an alias option by the account preferences.
It might be worth looking at whether and if so what folder template
options and other features the MUAs provide.
IIRC using a sendmail replacement like msmtp is quite comfortable to do
with your favoured (GUI or non-GUI) text editor, but it's a long time
ago that I tested it. You could BCC to yourself to store those "special"
emails by your "ordinary" GUI MUA.
Regards,
Ralf
