Hi,
I was given a lenovo all-in-one PC walking Windows 10 and was asked to
rescue the data from it and then either get it into a suitable state
for someone from Contact (a charity the PC owner and I support) could
use the PC or send it to the tip.
After rescuing the data and making sure it had been received OK, I
started work. In the firmware menu I disabled Secure Boot and made
sure that the optical drive (ODD) had a higher boot priority than the
SSD.I could not get any of my usual CD-Rs to work. I had an Ubuntu
20.04.1 DVD-RW and booted that OK - leading to an install of 20.04.1
and a subsequent upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04.3
I was wondering... what do other people do in similar situations like this?
TIA,
Ian
