Well, shit. I'm sorry, Marco and by implication anyone else affected. I
just did what Oliver did in confirming that the firefox deb ISN'T
installed by default AFTER I posted this message. I could have sworn
that it was. Mea culpa, lesson learned and all that.
However, I still believe the main issue is an apt deficiency in not
being able to rank the suitability of a package in order to satisfy a
virtual dependency. the Firefox situation just brought the issue to the
forefront.
