I am getting XFCE errors when I start computer, so I ran this command on
the machine:

mythuser at amethi:~$ ps -e | grep -E -i "xfce|kde|gnome"
      37 ?        00:00:00 kdevtmpfs
    2605 ?        00:00:00 xfce4-session
    6143 ?        00:00:00 gnome-keyring-d
    6158 tty2     00:00:00 gnome-session-b
    6276 ?        00:00:00 gnome-session-c
    6288 ?        00:00:00 gnome-session-b
    6316 ?        00:01:46 gnome-shell
    6333 ?        00:00:00 gnome-shell-cal
    6525 ?        00:00:00 xfce4-notes
    6937 ?        00:00:02 xfce4-panel
    6983 ?        00:00:25 xfce4-power-man
    7006 ?        00:00:00 xfce4-notes
    7014 ?        00:00:00 xfce4-notifyd
    7067 ?        00:00:00 polkit-gnome-au

The goal is to get VNC server running on the machine, and the guides I
am seeing suggest XFCE which is how I think it got installed.

How do I get on Gnome or XFCE at this point, just uninstall gnome and
install XFCE? or vice versa?
