I definitely advocate the pdf route because it's like doing a dry run
of your print job that you can inspect for correctness before
committing to paper, toner and time. I started doing it for multiple
copies of instruction sheets of perhaps 6 or 8 sides.
Running off the pdf only takes seconds and saves so much time temper
and materials when you find that it isn't how you wanted it to be.
Check twice, print once!
