Did you try Googling the error?

Vague direction, judging by looking at others with this error -- a
failed update that didn't fully install, or something like that.
But your troubleshooting so far makes me think that you know what
you're doing and you've probably already investigated...

Well, some generic things to try:
* full fsck of the filesystem
* check your firmware is fully up to date
