this might be related to the transition from a regular DEB package to a
containerized snap oddity.

However, you should mention what your "renewed UBUNTU" release is.

Jammy seems to offer the first transitional package for Firefox, see
https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/firefox .

Get used to it, developers of nowadays open source projects often know
way better what most users want and what most users don't want, than
most users do know.
