Does anyone here use the Anbox Android emulator? Is it useful?

I'd like to run things like smart control software and also Onkyo and
similar sound control apps on my Linux machines.

The only Android emulator I can see in the Ubuntu repositories is
Anbox.  It sounds as if it *might* do the sort of things I want but
it's a fair amount of effort to install before I found out if can do
what I want.

So, does anyone here have any experience of using Anbox to run (fairly
simple) apps like Tenda Beli and the Onkyo media centre app?

I do already have adb (android debugger) installed so I have the
necessary means for installing apps into Anbox.
