Thinkpad L 15 gen 2 advice

Due to ongoing over heating problems with my Thinkpad T 420 (it's not 
dust and I have the maximum amount of RAM installed) I'm considering the 
purchase of a Thinkpad L 15 gen 2. I need to buy this sight unseen via 
an online store and from the reviews that I've read it seems to be just 
what I need but still I'd like to know what list member think of it.

Also, I need to dual boot this laptop. I dual booted my T 420 without 
any problems until I replaced the HDD with an SSD. I could not, after a 
great deal of effort, dual boot the T 420 with the SSD installed and had 
to resort to a virtual box installation for Windows (I need Windows to 
update my Garmin navigator and nothing else) which worked but it wasn't 
very satisfactory as far as speed goes.

I'm a little confused by the conflicting specs that I've read from two 
sources. It seems that the L 15 has 1 USB C port used for battery 
charging and only 1 other USB port (USB 3).  The mouse needs 1 port so 
that means that there are no ports for anything else. Maybe there are 
multiple modes of the L 15 that have differing numbers of USB ports?
