*I* don't need to download those files (I have original copies on my home
machine). I only *upload* to my server, which provides the files via both
http:// and anon-only ftp://. I provided the ftp service way back when and
later added a http version.  All of my web hosting clients use a CMS and don't 
use ftp to upload content.

I haven't used ftp to download from other servers in a long time, I only
noticed a problem with FF'a ftp when I was testing things on my server
(testing the link to my ftp server, which was giving the "strange" popup
dialog). I was not actually looking to actually download anything.
