Firefox nolonger supports ftp:// ?

I just discovered that Firefox 98.0 (under Ubuntu 18.04) no longer seems able 
to handle URLs starting with ftp://.  It asks for an application and when I 
select Firefox, nothing happens -- it does not visit the FTP site.

(I am just using this for anon ftp download only.)
