Synology. Great NAS as long as the warranty is in effect. After that
the company refuses to offer any help, parts or service. Buy a new one
throw the old one into the land fill is their policy.
I spent almost a year trying to get some kind of help on an 8 bay
Synology that was about 6 months out of warranty.

I dug out a 10 year old Dell XP with an I5 that was too old and slow,
like me, for video editing installed TrueNAS on it.

If you insist on buying a premade box ask the manufacture what their
after warranty policy is for parts and service. The only company that I
wrote to that claimed they would sell parts was ixSystems. I ended up
with another 8 bay NAS that was made from off the shelf parts.

NO More proprietory Hardware of software
