In one case here Ralf, a usb3 adapter of questionable ancestry was the
culprit. Replaced it with a startech, on a rpi4 and the SSD drive was
still good.
That was at least 2 years ago. It has probably handled multiple
petabytes of
traffic since.
Lesson Learned. Pay the extra 3 bucks for a startech. They Just Work.
Take care & stay well. Yeah, I'm still about, coming up on my 88th if I
make it till October. I should, the pacemaker battery has still got around
5 years to go. :o)
